Candy corn, in a milkshake, on an allergy-friendly blog, what? Yes, you’re right. It’s glorious.
Look at that creamy milky (but not) shake-y numminess seeping out of the sides of that gorgeous borderline overflowing mason jar. Come to momma.
I love simplicity in the form of a drink that will give me a great sugar kick and a happy day.
If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ll already know that I had the best day ever yesterday. Complete with a nice warm bath, soup, my guilty pleasure reality tv show (19 Kids and Counting, holla), barbecue for dinner, and YouTube videos galore.
After last week away, I needed a day to decompress and get centered again. I’m one of those funny introverts that needs quiet and alone time. Time to be with myself and refill my energy tank. It worked and now I’m feeling ahhmazeballs.
Ready to conquer the world.
And with that comes delish milkshakes that aren’t really milkshakes. Well, almond milkshakes. With candy corn.
Am I crazy? You would tell me if I’m crazy, right? I trust you readers and your blunt opinions.
Crazy combos are the shizzle. Especially when they work and aren’t absolutely disgusting. My many attempts at crazy combinations are 99.8% of the time disgusting, but I hold out for the .2% amazingness. That’s what I live for. And this milkshake is .2% of me hitting the jackpot.
Banana and pumpkin? It’s like a combo of wannabe sweet and savory can’t decide but we’ll go for it kind of flavors.
I must warn you though that the banana lovers in the house will unite, while the non-banana lovers should stick to the plain candy corn milkshake. Just some advice. But still, it’s tasty.
And this about summed up my plan for last night: me, couch, book, sweatshirt, stretchy pants, big top bun, fireplace, and a mug of this milkshake to end my perfectly wonderful day.
- 2 pints almond milk ice cream
- 1½ cups almond milk
- ½ cup candy corn
- ½ cup pumpkin (optional)
- ½ banana (optional)
- In a vitamix or high powered blender, place in all the ingredients and blend for about 3 minutes until smooth. Top with sprinkles and serve.
